In January 2020 Friends of the Marion Public Library introduced the
Dolly Parton Imagination Library program to Marion. Any child in the 52302 ZIP code
ages birth to 5 is eligible.
Beginning in July 2025, Friends has partnered with the Marion Public Library Foundation and the Marion Public Library to administer the program jointly.
Donate to the program or register a child online at this link, or you can grab a registration card from our bookstore in the library.

This wonderful partnership promotes early reading habits and encourages a lifelong appreciation for literacy and learning among our local Marion children.
Kids from birth to age 5 who live in the 52302 zip code are eligible to register for the program. Once registered children will receive one book by mail each month until they age out of the program.
There is no cost to the child's family to participate. This program is supported by the Friends of the Marion Public Library, the Marion Public Library Foundation, and the Marion Public Library staff, and by donations.
Program registration cards are available in the Library, download and print our registration card, or register online.
It's easy to donate, and donations are tax-deductible. Just $31 will provide one book each month for a year to a registered child. Donate $155 to support one child for all five years. Click here or on the Donate Now images to donate; 100% of your donation supports local children.
Our Friends group and our program partners are so excited about this local program! Please contact Cheryl, Hilery, or Jake at DPIL@marionpubliclibrary.org with any questions you may have.
