Wouldn't you love to be involved with this friendly group?
The Friends of the Marion Public Library (MPL) is a citizen volunteer organization that promotes the use of the library and provides financial assistance for various purchases and programs.
Learn a bit about our history here.
If you like the technical stuff, you can look at our by-laws here.
The Friends of MPL staffs a bookstore in the library, and sponsors book sales three times each year; in cooperation with the library and the Library Foundation, Friends is a local affiliate for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Funds from our bookstore and book sales are used to support library programs and special projects not covered by their budget, such as postage for the Home Book Program, technology needs, and, most recently, outfitting the new library bookmobile and providing its exterior wrap.
