Friends of the Marion Public Library has been given permission to sell the remaining furnishings in the old Marion Public Library in anticipation of the building’s sale and demolition later this year. The Marion Library will open their lovely new building this fall.
Everything must go! Fire sale prices! Here are your guidelines.
- Items must be prepaid (we’ll provide a link for online payments; a fee is added to cover our provider's charges) and must be picked up before Labor Day (September 5).
- All items have been sitting in the former library building since it was abandoned in August 2020 following the derecho. The building has been a site for police and fire training, and a base for the new building’s construction crew. It is extremely dirty.
- All items are sold as-is. Nothing is being offered that is in unusable condition. We'd recommend anything with upholstery be cleaned. We are not pre-cleaning any items.
- All items must be picked up; we will not ship. You must be able to load whatever you purchase on your own.
- The building is not accessible without an appointment. You'll need to schedule a time to pick up any purchases.
- Please email friends@marionpubliclibrary.org with the item numbers in which you're interested. If multiple items are available for your item number, please indicate how many you want. If your items are still available, we'll send you a payment link. Once we receive payment, the item will be removed from the site.
Please reach us at friends@marionpubliclibrary.org if you cannot find an answer to your question or if you need additional information about any items. We’ll do our best to provide the details you need.
